I say, my sincerest, deepest condolences to you all and to the rest of your family.

It's dashed shocking, too, that you received such unfortunate news in such an abrupt manner.... I'm surprised that one who has undertaken to instruct us in matters of etiquette could commit such a breach of it. Doubtless she intended only to bring you the news with as little delay as possible, what, but I daresay it was well unseemly.

I hope you can all find solace in one another and please, if there is anything that we your classmates and school chums can do to ease your pain, do please let us know how we may assist you, whether now or in the days and weeks to come.

Your friend,

-Justin Finch-Fletchley

Hullo, all,

Michael wrote to me and to Sally-Anne last night about assembling a small group of people we trust to practise the ventriloquism spell for Professor Dolohov's class.

First off, I'm willing to meet him this evening, as well as Sally-Anne (and I've told him as much, in Potions this afternoon). But second, It's got me to thinking--again, I'm sorry, what, I know I sound like a broken record--that there ought to be a better way of getting together a small number of people, so that we may arrange other groups like the revising sessions. I say, something larger than the lock but smaller than sending out an open invitation via journal.

Because I well take Michael's point, what, that there are certain persons and certain subjects for which one must take care in agreeing to work together, what? As much as I like Michael, I rather think he's not exactly someone we want to have here, if you follow me. But if we keep on using the lock to tell large groups what's going on, someone's bound to notice, what?

Ron, do you suppose you might ask Fred and George about a clever way to alert a number of people if we wish to meet up? I can only imagine that these little sessions are going to become more frequent.

Hullo, all,

I say, I've been reading the discussions about Fred and George's recommendations but I've tried to let the others have a say in it first.

Neville, I well see your point that the more people we add, the more likely it is someone will learn of the lock who ought not know about it. And Luna, I appreciate the offer of the press and perhaps there's a use for it but I think Ron's right, it'd be too easy for someone to track down a whole printing press and then it's only a matter of time before they find the rest of us, what?

But in the meantime, I know that Sally-Anne in particular hoped that since Hydra's an Occlumens, she might show talent for Legilimency to help the rest of us learn. Well, I didn't ask straight out, what, but the subject did come up recently and she confirmed that she's not at all interested in trying to learn the skill. I say, I hope that changes no one's opinion? Because, well, as you know, I'm obviously in favour of bringing her in as soon as I can bally well arrange to tell her in person and show her how to write here.

As for others, Ron, I quite like Susan Bones and think she'd be a fine addition. Perhaps we ought to think about people we believe could be trusted with the lock, versus people who simply need a group of others with whom they may be encouraged to speak candidly? Because...well, Hogwarts has loads of clubs, hasn't it? I say, could we start some sort of club that no one would seriously consider joining, so that we can pick and choose the people to invite? Rather like Pansy's Teatime of the Strange? And then we could sound them out there while protecting the lock, and only add them on once we're reasonably sure they'll respect it?

Or perhaps there's some other code we might develop, what? I'm not sure. But I do think we're all clever enough to figure something out.

Fred and Ron,

I say, I'm very sorry to hear your sister's unwell. I hope it's nothing serious? Do you know what happened?

Fred, do share this with George as well.

Hullo, everyone,

Terry's suggested that we put together a survival kit, what, and that I might take it with me when the group visits Lincoln over hols. He's told me where to hide it so if he is ever able to escape, he can take it along.

I think it's a smashing idea. And since some of you will be going along to a few things before then, you might even get me items to put in it after hols, what? I say, at first I thought we only had two days to put it together but there's the Yorkshire trip and all.

So if you've got something to contribute, you can give it to me before the end of the day Friday or on the train, or on any of the events on April 6, 7, or 8 (those of you who are coming, that is).

Terry mentioned clothes, what, and I thought a bedroll and perhaps some toiletries, maybe even cooking tools if we can put that bally old shrinking spell on them, yes? And some money, of course. Perhaps a map, maybe to yours, Ron and Fred and George? Or if that wouldn't be wise, then to somewhere else safer. Sally-Anne, perhaps he could get to the Strettons' and blend in, what?

And we shall need a good knapsack to carry it all, perhaps with an expansion charm on it. That's well advanced magic, though: Fred, George and Lee, could you manage that? Perhaps Sally-Anne's clever enough to do it. That might be more difficult as I don't think I've got anything appropriate, what. And while I might be able to get one in New London at the weekend, then we might not have time or privacy to put the charms on it while we're all in our groups.

So does anyone else have something we could use? I suppose that's the start and we may all add to it as we can. The Lincoln trip is on 9 April, so as long as I have the contents by then, I shall be able to convey them.

Hullo, Dux,

How is that project going, then? Have you managed to figure anything out yet?

I say, if not, perhaps Sally-Anne might help without asking too many questions. From what I understand, she's well talented in Runes.

It might...speed things along. Not that I'm complaining but we must have been the only couple in Hogwarts who couldn't even snog on Valentine's Day, what?

Though it's been well grand waking up each morning to the photo. I've set it right next to my alarm, what? So it's almost the first thing I see every day and the last thing I look at when I put out the light. You do look well fetching in it and it's not just the robes. I say, I think we look a well handsome couple in point of fact. I'm glad you thought to ask whether there were photos of us both that simply weren't run in the papers. (Not that I mind being left out of the papers, what? I feel sure that would make our present situation much worse!)

Well. If you see me tomorrow and I've got red glitter all over my hair and robes blame Martin Pascal; he's been almost forcing those sweets of the Weasley twins' upon everyone. Can't think why he finds them dead hilarious, what? It's a good job Professor Froissart's down in London or he'd have us all doing detentions with your Mr Milland to clean up all the confetti!

Perhaps we could revise together tomorrow?

-Justin
