Hullo,

Draco, how are you settling in to your impersonation?

Gents, Hydra's heard part of this already but: I don't think I'm going to get to Corbyn this way. For one thing he's too careful. Always Apparates directly where he's going, never eats in public restaurants, and when he is in public he's never alone. Moreover I can only maintain surveillance on one location at a time. Now that Draco's at the Elysian, I may change over and find a place to set up outside Ouroboros, instead.

What I think is needed are some good strategies for creating circumstances in which it's possible to take him unawares--well, anyone, really, but in particular Corbyn for right now. I don't want to ask Rachel to commit ever more resources, what, as you and the others all have quite enough to do already. But it's clearly going to be necessary to change one's methods every time, as their people are dashed effective at adapting and tightening security. Not that that's surprising, but it does make things rather inconvenient.

If he lived alone, I'd chance trying to dismantle his wards, or bluff my way in. That might well work for another sort of target. Corbyn has a family, what.

Diversions or commotions requiring them to respond is a trick that can only work so often. Perhaps I should take a leaf out of Draco's book and find a barber, masseuse, aesthetist or other service employee to replace who can get me within arm's length of the chap.

alt_justin: (c'est la vie)
Draco,

I hear from Hydra that you're about to embark on an assignment under cover at the Elysian. I say, jolly good show, finding that chap and convincing him to go along with your plan.

I've been thinking about the job I'm to do here in New London, too. As you know, Rachel has me picking off the Death Eaters in not-entirely random order, what, but I've got to admit it's a more difficult business than I'd hoped. Not that one assumed it would be simple, of course, but this week it's been dashed near impossible to catch any of them letting their guards down enough to successfully target anyone, let alone the one I'm meant to catch. At this point I'd consider myself lucky if I could get a sniper spell off if ever he as much as sets foot outside the Elysian or Ouroboros Club doors, what.

It's far more likely that they've simply called for Floo and Apparating protocols whenever practicable. Though Rachel's contact hasn't (to my knowledge, anyway) given her any information about an order to stay off the streets, one has to assume that since Ron and I nabbed Dyson, they're being extra careful.

But once you're inside the Elysian, what, and you've established that they believe your impersonation, then do you think it might be possible to send me a Patronus or a button message or some sort of signal if and when you know that someone's going to be vulnerable? I asked Rachel and she said to talk to you about it, as it's not your primary goal but you'll have the best sense of what's possible or not.

I shouldn't want you to do anything that will compromise your own mission, naturally, and if you've got the opportunity to take care of any of them on your own--well, I say, don't stand on ceremony, old man! Take your shots, what. But it's my understanding that you don't want to squander your cover, either, by taking action that might bring you under direct suspicion. That's why it occurred to me that if you can pass along pertinent information or warnings, I might be able to act on them with no one the wiser.

Of course, I'll keep looking for opportunities that have nothing to do with the Elysian, what, but once you're embedded, why not press every advantage we can get?

Lads,

I say, if you're free, the salle is (for once!) not engaged. Hydra and I thought we'd set up some advanced drills. Randomise the turnings, the protective spells, that sort of thing.

We might invite a few of the trainees later today, what, once we've run the course a couple times and know its surprises. Towler definitely needs to run every day; and have you noticed that Archer always drops her shoulder just before she fires? I say, we'll have to work on that.

Interested? Or are you still digesting lunch?

Ron, good news about George having woken up! I thought a bit of celebration might be in order. Draco, what do you say to joining us sometime this weekend? I think if Harry's along, we could risk leaving the castle, what.

I know it's only been a week but it does seem particularly stifling to be back at school again. You may find you're the lucky one, Draco, not having to suffer it.

Meet in the Hogsmeade safehouse?

-Justin
alt_justin: (confident)
Draco,

I say, old man, congratulations again to you and Hermione. It's been a long time coming. I'm glad she seems happy in the development--I know you are.

I'm sorry Hydra and I hadn't told anyone about our decision sooner. I'm sure I don't have to explain the reasons we kept it secret so long.

But our relative cross-cultural relationships, if you follow me, and some of the things Antonin has said and--done lately, what--have got me to thinking about some questions I think you might be well-positioned to answer. I hope you aren't offended, though: they are of a rather personal nature. I was wondering about...well, about your father, and whether his captivity among Muggles might be changing him. If it is, that is.

Have you ever had any impression from him that he might...be able to revise his position on blood purity? Or that his perspective has been broadened by helping us? I rather understand that he prefers only to think of himself as helping you to achieve the goal of removing Voldemort, what, but...has he ever given you any inkling that he could recant?

Order Only

Mrs Weasley, we're heading back in, what, and you might wish to tune the wireless to the WWN. Apparently there's some breaking news about Gringott's. It seems that Hermione may have found a way to release the dragon, after all.

Sirius, you might want to see if you can give it a listen as well.

Draco, Hermione, do please check in as soon as ever you can do. I say, I hope this means you were successful.

-Justin
alt_justin: (Observir)
Daphne,

How are you? I saw the reward's gone up. Still no word, then. I'm dashed sorry, I know it must be well nerve-wracking.

I say, I wondered...have you any plans at the weekend? Care to get a coffee or a cup of tea? I've been thinking about our chat Monday and--well, I say, I thought you might like to continue it.

At any rate, you know Weasley and I have taken a flat together for the summer and we found a smashing cafe right round the corner near the Barbican Suites. Or if you've a favourite spot that would do just as well.

If you're not altogether busy with Lizzie's wedding plans, what.

Hullo, all,

Have any of you undergone questioning yet? I say, I've just come from there and there's a bloke from the Ministry whom I believe is one of their Legilimenses.

He was sitting in the room letting one of the others ask most of the questions, what, but occasionally he would break in and ask something in just the way Hydra's said her mother taught her. For example, the Auror asked a few questions about my own relationship with Draco, what, and then the wizard in the back would ask something like, 'How did he feel about you and Miss Lestrange breaking off your engagement?' and then he asked, 'What did he tell you about his own family's standards?' as if he hoped I'd think about conversations in which Draco maligned his aunt or expressed frustration at being expected to marry another pureblood. 'What other things did he confide to you?' and so on.

The other line of questioning was about Hermione, what. The primary interviewer asked me if I'd ever had direct contact or conversations with Harry's servant, and the Legilimens interjected a question about Hermione's wand. I say, I'm jolly well sure he thought just asking the question would make me picture her wand or her holding her wand--if I'd ever seen it, what.

Let's see. They asked about Mr Milland and any detentions I'd served with him (which was well simple, what, as all my detentions had been with Professors) and back to more questions about how I adjusted to life here after moving from France.

At any rate, the point is that we can't assume everyone can occlude, what, and we can't assume that everyone who knows anything or suspects anything will be questioned where someone we trust is controlling the conversation. I say, particularly people who came to book club or have a Galleon.

Harry, this morning's meeting went jolly well--good form, old man--well, apart from poor Daphne--but even if they all have the best of intentions, what, I think someone's bound to let something slip.

Have there ever been any hint of conversations or indications here at school that Draco was actively involved with an insurgent organisation? I mean, could anyone not in the Order already have any sort of information that MLE could use against him?

-Justin
alt_justin: (Default)
Hermione, Draco,

Please, don't feel you need to respond. I'm sure you're more than a little turned upside down at present. I just wanted to say that I'm well relieved you both escaped and dashed sorry we couldn't help you any sooner. And I'm quite sorry for your losses.

It's difficult to know what to say. Other people, yourselves included, were much closer to Professor McGonagall and Professor Lestrange. I say, I've been trying to stay out of the way, mostly, and let everyone do what they need to do to cope. I suspect your own grief must be mixed into a well confusing morasse of feeling the loss of Hogwarts, what, and the changes in both your circumstances.

I thought you might both like to know that the memorial service today was not at all a proper sendoff, what, so if you have given even a single thought to having missed it, you may be grateful you did not have to suffer through it.

Also, I don't know if anyone has mentioned it, specifically, but: You were both exceptionally brave, what. And you both proved a credit to the Order, the way you resisted. Well done. I'm not sure all of us could have withstood the trials you went through.

And Draco, on a purely personal note: Thank you. I say, it may not be a charitable sentiment but I know I shall rest jolly well easier knowing that Theodore Nott, Jr., can never threaten Hydra or Hermione or any other person on this earth, ever again.

Well. I think I shall end there and leave you both to your recovery. Again, my condolences, and my congratulations, as well, for escaping your ordeal.

Very best wishes,

-Finch-Fletchley

Hello, all,

Ron, Harry, Draco and I went down to the Ministry today to test for our Apparation licences. I say, they were a bit taken aback that Draco and Harry were there, what, but they let them fill out the parchment and pay their application fees without any question.

Harry went first, then Draco, then they called me in and Ron went last of us.

We all passed but one and Ron plans to go back again on Tuesday. (I say, think nothing of it, old man, I quite agree it was bally well ridiculous of them. You've Apparated loads of times, what.)

Congratulations again, Harry and Draco, and Ron, Tuesday's sure to go perfectly.

Sirius, I'm expected with the Jugsons on Sunday but I ought to be able to come by after dinner. Around 7:00? Or is that too close to Bea's bedtime and I should wait?

Sally-Anne, if you want to know more about Professor Dolohov's house before you go, I say, I'm happy to tell. We never did get back to it after that last round of Snap.

-Justin
alt_justin: (meurtrier)
I say, I thought Padma's illusion outside was in poor taste but Dean's contribution just now was...well disturbing.

Hydra, I'm sure Jack's all right. He ran straight out when it was over. I tried to catch him but he slipped past.

Ernie said the cat with the spiked collar is Megan's. Is that right, Sue? I say, I'd seen it down the sett but hadn't taken notice of who its owner is.

I daresay one can tell Thomas has never had a pet of his own, what, or he'd never presume to use others' pets like that. Particularly when they were all running about afterward. Did anyone else notice that one of the cats upset a milk jug all down Narcissa Lonsdale's robes? I say, the poor thing's not having an easy time of it, what. Between that and Crabbe and Goyle's hex, I'm sure she wishes she'd not left Ravenclaw Tower today.

Draco, the painting's yours, isn't it? It's quite good. Rather subtle, what, particularly compared to the rest of the entries. At least it doesn't cause chaos in our midst.

-F-F
alt_justin: (confident)
Draco,

I say, our team came across Ron. He's being held near that bally well huge oak with the half-moon-shaped knothole above the third branch, what. Do you remember it from Monday? It was just where Auror Desai caught up with Professor Dolohov--the first time, what, not where she bested him.

It's about half a kilometre a quarter-mile SSW of the central camp. There's a bearded MLE chap with him.

Daphne had a blue scarf which we've tied at the top-most limb of a birch tree just north of the place. If you fly over, you should be able to land there with jolly good cover to investigate for yourselves.

If you'd like us to help in the rescue, I say, let me know and I'll ask a couple of mine to assist.

Good hunting, old chap! If you lot aren't in camp already by the time we free Harry, we'll come back and get Ron as well.

Cheers,

-Justin
alt_justin: (soupçonneux)
Everyone,

Sorry to disturb, but I've been thinking. This is the second time someone has tried to access Draco's private correspondence, what. I say, I don't think we can treat that like a coincidence.

Bill, you've said there's no way to tamper with past messages. But is there a way to create a false record and replace it, just like the replica of the Hogwarts book?

For example, if we know that the suspect messages are all among Draco, Harry and Hermione, we could create pages with innocuous content, what, and somehow slip those in to the records instead of the ones they wrote. Then we'd have to destroy the record but surely that would be simple enough, compared to the rest.

-Justin
alt_justin: (De rien)
Hullo,

I say, last Noble Arts lesson for the year! I suppose I've got to think of a graceful way to refuse his offer to come and study with him over the summer.

What did you think about what Draco said? About learning from Professor Dolohov so that we can plan how to counter it all? I take his point but I'm well certain whatever the Order have done up until now, they've had bally good reasons not to cross those lines. I'm sure if they thought they could learn the Dark Arts and not use them, they'd already have done, what?

Have you been reading back, in those Order posts? Anything you've found that disturbs? I say, I've seen a thing or two that took me rather by surprise but then I think, they weren't to know. It's well interesting seeing that Sirius didn't want me to stay, for one thing.

But thinking about Professor Dolohov's offer...Do you know, no one's told us much about what will happen over the summer, with the CCF or the YPL. Have you heard anything? If the Order can give us more lessons, do you think you'll be able to come?

I'm glad to have had Jack, these last few nights. He's helped considerably. Besides, it's probably jolly clever to get him used to me before I take him to the Jugsons', what!

I wish there were something we could do for Sally-Anne. Do you think her father would prevent her getting a care parcel?

-Justin
alt_justin: (C'est vrai!)
Draco,

I say, sorry not to have caught you on Boxing Day. I suppose Blackmoor Park is large enough that one was always in another part of the house, what?

I thought perhaps we might have a chance to chat today, as well, but it went dark before you lot stopped flying. (Well done, by the way! That last set of goals before Marvolo caught the Snitch? Well impressive.)

Remy and I do plan to join the rest of the cast, what, but I don't expect that will afford any privacy. Did you still wish to have a word? I say, old chap, I'm quite at your service.

-Justin Finch-Fletchley
alt_justin: (malheureux)
Hullo, everyone,

Well, Zach's certainly made himself scarce since our Dark Arts lesson. I say, I'm well glad for his sake that we've got Professor Dolohov at the end of the day, so he didn't have to see anyone else afterward, what?

By the way, has anyone else noticed that Madam Umbridge was scratching her ankles all during our exercise period this afternoon?

Ron, good thinking Saturday, activating the Galleon. I think we had a jolly time, and it made Saturday's exercises much more interesting than today's, what? Shame one can't hold a Galleon meeting prior to every YPL activity.

Pansy, I was...pleased to see Malfoy there, as well. It's well time we all got to know each other in more hospitable surroundings.

Picnic

May. 6th, 2012 02:40 pm
alt_justin: (Eh bien!)
Hullo, friends,

I say, I thought yesterday's picnic was positively corking. Thank you all for coming; I hope I shall be able to host other jolly gatherings once in a while before end of term. Marvolo, Malfoy, I was very pleased to see you decided to come along! We've not spent much time at all this year, despite being thrown together somewhat when I came for the Quidditch World Cup, what? I say, it was grand to make your acquaintance again.

It's well hard to believe that it's already May. It seems like just yesterday I was wondering whether I'd be coming back to England with the other students from Beauxbatons but at the same time, it feels as if I've been here ages and ages. I suppose it's down to meeting so many people who've become good friends.

-Justin
alt_justin: (Default)
Hullo, you.

I've been thinking about the guest list for tea on Saturday. I say, do you think we ought to invite Marvolo? I'm not sure if Pansy plans to come or if she'll bring Malfoy along, though they'd be welcome. But it occurred to me that if Marvolo were to come, perhaps he could bring Hermione Granger as well. No one else I've invited would have the slightest objection to including her, what.

But perhaps the invitation would look better coming from you? I mean to say, you could send him a PM and your mother might see that you're socialising with him, if you follow me.

Thought it might do just as well if I sent it, from the point of view of certain other quarters. I'm not sure. What do you think?

-Justin
alt_justin: (Comme-si comme ca)
What ho, all,

I thought March was supposed to be a better month than February, what? But it seems everyone's well upset about something.

Hydra's upset because of something she saw and because Harry's upset that she saw it. Harry's upset (so I hear) because he's got to punish Hermione--I'm dreadfully sorry, Hermione. I expect you're well upset about being punished when you've done nothing wrong, and quite right, too. And Pansy, Hydra said she thinks you're upset because Draco's upset, what? So I'm upset because Hydra's upset, and because other friends of mine are upset, in the bargain.

If it's all the same, could one simply skip ahead to April? That ought to be better, oughtn't it?

Oh, but bother. April's when we're going on that bally old tour and one shall have to keep up a proper façade of being jolly well impressed with every monument they flash before us, what?

And it'll be one month closer to Oh, dash it. This place is simply mad.

ALORS!

Hello, all my new friends,

I've arrived at Beauxbatons - where our Headmistress just made the most amazingly SNITCH announcement!

Have you already heard as well?

I think I might be coming back to England this year, after all!

(Draco, mate, if this is what you meant earlier, then I owe you an apology. It's definitely superior!)
